The Week Ahead North America: U.S. Nonfarm Payrolls, G20 Meeting

(CEP News) The main events in North America next week will be the release of U.S. consumer confidence data, the ISM Manufacturing Index and the nonfarm payrolls report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Currency strategists will also pay close attention to the G20 meeting in London, England at the end of the week.Neil Mellor, senior currency strategist at The Bank of New York Mellon, said the G20 meeting could be a positive for the U.S. dollar. The U.S. dollar has been under pressure since the Fed announced quantitative easing measures on March 18.

European Markets hesitant at the opening; USD stronger against Pound and Yen

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) – European markets are drifting between positive and negative levels in the first trading hours on Thursday. The Dollar continues trading slightly upwards against the Yen while the Pound’s rally seems to have halted on weaker than expected UK retail sales.
